Hello, I’m Hugh and welcome to “Pass With Hugh”. I am a fully qualified, Grade A, DVSA Approved Driving Instructor. I have a real interest in teaching and learning and before becoming a driving instructor taught for over 20 years, both in schools and training adults.

 

I live in Bottesford, near Grantham with my family. We’ve lived in this area for nearly 20 years, coming first for work and then staying because we found it a brilliant place to be, close to great countryside as well as big cities. I enjoy the outdoors and my passions are walking and cycling but any spare time is mostly spent looking after my 3 children.

I became a driving instructor because of my love of coaching and enjoyment of driving. What better than to combine the two? My friends and work colleagues told me that as I was calm, friendly and relaxed I would make a great Driving Instructor. They encouraged me to ‘follow my dream’ and here I am.

Why learn with Me?

Lessons are always conducted in a calm, friendly and relaxed manner as I firmly believe in making pupils feel at ease during lessons. Watching pupils become confident, safe and courteous drivers makes me proud and is why I enjoy being an instructor. Everybody is different and I always plan for flexibility in lessons so that you learn to drive safely at a rate that suits you. I aim to make every lesson enjoyable and as productive as possible. This is your learning journey and, as with any journey you make, you can plan and decide which route you want to take.

  • Depending on location, some early learners may have 1 hour or 90 minute lessons to start with and then progress to 2 hours once they are confident with the basics of controlling the car.

Pass Plus

  • 6+ Hours
  • Pass Plus is a practical course that takes at least 6 hours in-car training and is intended for new drivers to improve their skills and drive more safely. It can be taken at any time although it should be most useful to new drivers in the year after passing their test. It may help you get a car insurance discount if you successfully complete the course.
